Work with your recruiter to determine:
- cost of advertising
- potential sites for advertising, whether electronic or print media,
- the nature of the content of advertisement to attract the best pool.
Essential components of an ad:
- address the essential duties of the position,
- provide contact information for the search committee or person receiving the resumes
- direct applicants to the online database
- direct applicants to request an application packet, if applicable
- include the EEO/AA statement.
Consider developing an application packet for those who reply to an advertisement in order
to pique interest. Application packet would include:
- detailed position description
- comprehensive departmental information
- community and regional overview
