Facility Reservations

Learning & Organization Development accepts facility reservations for training programs and department/ group meetings. Conference rooms and computer labs are available to Duke entities on a limited basis as follows.

  • Because our facility is on an alarm system, our rooms are not available outside of regular business hours unless you are also contracting our department's instruction/ consulting services.

Detailed Facility Information:

Shaner Room:

 

 

 

  • 14 tables, 28 chairs. There are multiple configurations possible in this room.
  • instructor table, tabletop lecturn, sideboard
  • permanently installed computer, DVD, VCR and ceiling mount LCD projector
  • internet port
  • flip charts, whiteboards, and markers

Duke Room:

  • seats 10 around a single conference table
  • sideboard
  • flip charts, whiteboards, and markers
  • VCR and monitor (per request - no charge)
  • laptop and LCD projector (per request - additional $50 fee)

Computer Labs

  • instructor workstation
  • 12 workstations (103, 104, 112)
  • 24 workstations (101)
  • LCD projector
  • flip charts, whiteboards, and markers

    Food is strictly prohibited from the computer labs.

General:

Campus phones, rest rooms, water fountains, soda and snack machines are adjacent to the main hallway.

Free parking is available in front of buildings 402 and 406, and all Duke parking permits are valid. For visitors without a Duke permit, day passes are available.

Note: You may set up your own laptop instead of using the equipment here, however L&OD cannot provide technical support for your equipment.

Catering:

Catering/ food is strictly prohibited in the computer labs so that the rooms and equipment remain in optimal condition for our use and for use by other Duke entities. If you are using a computer lab and would like to provide food for your group, you may reserve the Duke Room at no additional charge.

For events scheduled in the Shaner or Duke Rooms, you may have your event catered and have food in these rooms. Your department will be responsible for all catering arrangements: delivery, payments, and clean up. At the end of your event, all trash should be discarded and any remaining food and/ or catering supplies removed. Please leave the room as neat as it was when you began.

Room Setup:

If the room is not reserved the afternoon or morning just prior to your event, you may come early to arrange tables and set up. Reservation status can change on short notice; please check with our staff the day before your event. If the room is not clean and orderly when you arrive, please notify us immediately.

Cancellation:

You may cancel your reservation at no charge if you contact us no later than one week before your event. Otherwise, the rental fee will be due and is non-transferrable.
