Objectives:
Presented by the Office for Institutional Equity and held at 402 Oregon Street. What exactly do we mean when we say respectful communication is important in the workplace? How do our culture, gender, age, community and upbringing impact the experience of respect /disrespect? Workplaces bring a wide range of people together to work as a team. Despite commonalities in our definitions of respect, we also have our own individual expectations. Learn about the four elements common to all respectful communication, explore strategies for increasing respectful behaviors in the workplace, and examine approaches for responding to disrespectful behavior.
