Learning & Organization Development is located on Duke University's Central Campus at 402 and 406 Oregon Street, across the parking lot from the Duke University Police Station. Please call 613-7613 if you cannot find our facility, or if you think you might be more than 20 minutes late for a workshop at our location.

Directions from the Durham Freeway/ Rt. 147:

  • You are less than five minutes from our location. Take the Swift Avenue exit, # 14. If you are coming from the Hillsborough end of 147, turn right at the end of the exit ramp. If you are coming from the Raleigh end of 147, turn left at the end of the exit ramp. This is the opposite direction away from Broad Street and Main Street and the Whole Foods shopping plaza. If you cross over some railroad tracks, you are headed in the wrong direction.
  • You will enter a less developed area of Duke between East and West campuses. Proceed about two blocks down Swift to the four-way intersection with Campus Drive. There is a blinking red stoplight at this intersection. Turn right onto Campus Drive.
  • Go one block, and look for Oregon Street on your right. Turn right onto Oregon.
The first building you pass will be on your left - the Duke University Police Station. Immediately after that on the left is an access road into our parking lot, and then our buildings at 402 and 406 Oregon. They are one-story warehouse/industrial style buildings with brick facades and blue awnings over the main entrances. (Click this link for pictures of our buildings.) You may park in the lot in front of 402 and 406, but not in the lot adjacent to the Duke Police Station or the Episcopal Church. Please see additional parking information below.

Directions from Duke Medical Center:

  • You are less than five minutes from our location. Take Erwin Road toward 9th Street - but not that far. Staying on Erwin, cross Trent Drive (stoplight), pass Flowers Drive on the right, cross Anderson Street (stoplight), and pass Alexander Street on the right. Then take your very next right hand turn - Oregon Street. This turn is just before the Durham Freeway overpass - do not go under the bridge.
  • As you proceed down Oregon, you will see some campus apartment buildings. Keep going, and you will come over a rise in the road and then see two one-story warehouse/ industrial style buildings on the right. There is a Duke sign at the street that says "402/ 406 Oregon Street." Turn right onto the access road and then into our parking lot. The building fronts have brick facades and blue awnings over the main entrances. (Click this link for pictures of our buildings.) You may park in the lot in front of 402 and 406, but not in the lot adjacent to the Duke Police Station or the Episcopal Church. Please see additional parking information below.

Directions from Durham Regional Hospital:

  • You are just four miles away from our location. Take Olympic Avenue/ Stadium Drive to the traffic light at North Duke Street. Go straight through the light, staying on Stadium Drive. You will come to a stop sign at Broad Street.
  • Turn left onto Broad Street and pass Costco, go over Rts. 70/85, and proceed to the busy Guess Road intersection, keeping to the middle lane. To stay on Broad Street, gently veer left as you go into the intersection. (A hard left would put you on Guess Road.) The next stoplight on Broad is at Club Boulevard - keep going straight. You will pass through two more stoplights and then see Duke's East Campus on your left, and the Whole Foods shopping plaza on your right.
  • Continue straight through the intersection at Main Street and cross over the railroad tracks. Broad Street becomes Swift Avenue here. Next you will cross a bridge spanning the Durham Freeway - go about two more blocks down Swift to the four-way intersection with Campus Drive. There is a blinking red stoplight at this intersection. Turn right onto Campus Drive.
  • Go one block, and look for Oregon Street on your right. Turn right onto Oregon.
The first building you will pass is a small two-story brick building on your left - the Duke University Police Station. Turn left immediately after the police station onto the access road into our parking lot. Our buildings at 402 and 406 Oregon are one-story warehouse/ industrial style buildings with brick facades and blue awnings over the main entrances. (Click this link for pictures of our buildings.) You may park in the lot in front of 402 and 406, but not in the lot adjacent to the Duke Police Station or the Episcopal Church. Please see additional parking information below.

Parking:

  • Parking is available directly in front of our buildings. All Duke parking permits are valid in this lot. Do not park in the lot adjacent to the Duke Police Station or the Episcopal Church - you will be ticketed.
  • If you do not have a Duke parking permit, please request one from your instructor immediately upon your arrival. Do not wait for a break. This temporary permit must be signed and dated in order to be valid, and it should be displayed on your dashboard - not under a wiper.
  • On rare occasion, our parking lot will fill up. There is a small lot behind building 402 that can be used for overflow parking. Street parking is also available on the west sides of Oregon and Alexander Streets.
  • Our parking lot is regularly patrolled by Transportation and Parking Services. If you are ticketed, and you believe it was in error, you may dispute the ticket using the appeal form at their website:
