Since January 1, 2008, these resources have been available to Duke employees and their adult dependents
who are covered under a Duke health plan
(Duke Basic, Duke Select, Blue Care and Duke Options). Expanded smoking cessation coverage for spouses and
same-sex partners
not covered by a Duke health plan
ended December 31, 2007,
although a variety of excellent
resources are
still available.
Once you're enrolled in a LIVE FOR LIFE tobacco cessation program, you have the option of receiving
nicotine
replacement therapy (NRT) at no cost to you. This includes gum, patch and lozenge. You are also eligible for
a three-month supply of the stop smoking prescription drugs CHANTIX (varenicline) or Buproprion with no co-pay
(a physician's prescription is required).
LIVE FOR LIFE has compiled a
list of resources to help smokeless tobacco users break the habit.
