*All of the private child care providers and after school programs adminiseterd by the Durham Public Schools are regulated by the Division of Child Development of the State of North Carolina. Child care is rated by stars, with 5 stars indicating the highest of quality. Also look for child care homes accredited by NAFCC (National Association of Family Child Care), as these homes meet even higher standards of care. To obtain more information on each program, including complaints made against and compliance visit outcomes, and a detailed description of the NC Star Rating system, go to www.ncchildcare.net.
