Duke requires that its staff, medical staff, and contractors promptly report situations in which they expect violations of the DUHS Compliance Program, the DUHS Code of Conduct, other policies or procedures or federal or state laws such as the Federal False Claims Act. It is a violation of the Federal False Claims Act to knowingly submit, or cause another person or entity to submit, false claims for payment of government funds. Staff, medical staff, and contractors who suspect a violation of the False Claims Act or any other federal or state law, the DUHS Compliance Program, the DUHS Code of Conduct, or other policies or procedures are required to promptly report the situation.
