Grand Prize Winner of Photo Contest
"Staying healthy is important to me because I want to be there for my three precious
daughters. When I was pregnant with my twins I was hospitalized at 30 weeks for
pre-term labor. After three days my contractions subsided, and I became the world's
best patient — nothing was worth endangering the lives of my babies."
— Tanya Freeman, Duke Hospital
Why is your health important to you?
Earlier this year Duke Human Resources put out a call for photos from
faculty and staff that could be used to promote our health benefits under the
theme "Why is your health important to you?" The response was
tremendous, in terms of quantity — nearly 260 Duke faculty and staff
entered more than 430 photographs — as well as quality and creativity.
We want to hear your thoughts about Duke's
2008 Photo Contest. Please take a couple
minutes to complete this
anonymous survey.
Winning Photos
We'd like to thank Chris Hildreth, director of Duke University
Photography, for choosing our grand prize winner: Tanya Freeman of Duke
Hospital. Tanya received a weekend stay for two at the Asheville Grove
Park Inn Resort & Spa. Others who had photos included in open enrollment
materials also received a healthy reward.
The winning photos appeared in the Open Enrollment Guide, which you should
have received in September. You can also view a PDF version of the guide below,
as well as PDFs of other open enrollment materials featuring
various winning photos.
We hope you enjoy the photos that were chosen to enhance this year's
Open Enrollment materials. Look for more contest photos to be featured in
other benefits materials in the future. Thanks again to everyone who
entered our contest.
