First Time Supervisor Program

Mentor/Mentee Partnership Component

Each participant's manager will identify a mentor for the prospective participant based on the following selection criteria:

• Experienced manager/supervisor
• At least five years of service at Duke
• Willing to meet with participant on a monthly basis
• Willing to attend the required four hour training session and quarterly check-in sessions
• Managers will identify and nominate a mentor from the program participant's area

Mentoring Expectation

• The mentor will provide guidance on setting and achieving developmental goals
• The mentor will share insight into building and maintaining effective departmental and institutional relationships
