First Time Supervisor Program
Curriculum Overview
Participants will complete assessments to help identify strengths and developmental needs. They'll also participate in individual coaching sessions to design a customized development plan.
Participants will attend courses that meet the core objectives of the program on topics including keys to supervisory success, project management and financial management.
Participants may attend some classes offered by Learning & Organization Development to help meet the needs of their individual development plan.
All participants are required to complete Guide to Managing at Duke, a three-day management training program.
Individual on-the-job stretch assignments will provide participants with opportunities to apply knowledge and skills they will obtain during the program. These assignments will culminate in a required individual project.
