Run, Walk, Get Fit While Having Fun
Next Duke Run/Walk Club Begins August 29
Join the Duke Run/Walk Club this fall and have fun while getting fit. This 12-week walking and running program
includes cardiovascular and strength training for all fitness levels, from new exercisers and beginning runners
to those training for 15k events.
Based on their fitness level, participants can choose from six training programs that will assist them in achieving
their health goals. The club meets every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Depending on which training
program you choose to participate in, you will meet at one of the following two locations:
West Campus (hilly, advanced course)
The following groups will meet in front of Wallace Wade Stadium:
- Advanced Walkers
- Advanced Run/Walkers
- Advanced Runners
East Campus (flat, beginner course)
The following groups will meet across from Whole Foods at the Duke East Campus Wall:
- Beginner Walkers
- Beginner Run/Walkers
- Beginner Runners
Participants can also run or walk with the Run/Walk Club at local races throughout the season. LIVE FOR LIFE will be
coordinating a Duke Team to participate in local 5k events including America's Walk for Diabetes, Asthma Walk, 2005 Triangle
Metro Heart Walk, JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and Turkey Trot. Employees are encouraged to register for the Duke Team and
the 5k events that they would like to participate in.
Self-paced running and walking programs are also available through LIVE FOR
LIFE for those unable to attend the Run/Walk Club. For more information or to
