Third Professional Development Institute Class Graduates
The 21 students who graduated from Duke's Professional Development Institute (PDI) in August are already beginning to interview for higher-level jobs within Duke.
This graduating class was the third cohort to complete the intensive, 10-month curriculum that prepares employees for general or medical office administration. Participants learn computer programs used at Duke, polish their customer service, office etiquette, and career-planning skills, and have access to a mentor within Duke.
A fourth class began in March 2004. As part of the selection process, applicants must interview with a selection committee, take an assessment, receive approval from their supervisor to take time off work to attend classes one to three days a week and complete an internship.
For more information about the Professional Development Institute, visit the
PDI Web Site, call 684-5406, email
pdi@mc.duke.edu, or stop by the PDI office located at 3616 Duke Clinic (Yellow Zone).
