Durham Holiday Parade
Come celebrate the season with the community -- and with Duke University
Health System (DUHS) -- at the Durham City Holiday Parade on Dec. 4.
DUHS is a major sponsor of Light Up Durham for 2004, which includes the
annual holiday parade. This year, Dennis Clements, M.D., chair of the Duke
Department of Pediatrics, has been asked to be the Honorary Chair of the
parade. While he will lead the procession, Duke Children's Hospital and Health
Center will follow along with a holiday float.
Playing off the "Lighten Up Durham" theme introduced at the Independence
Day celebrations, LIVE FOR LIFE volunteers will also march in the parade,
leading spectators in exercises and stretches as "energy boosts" along the
parade route.
Come lighten up your life with your friends, colleagues and community. The
parade begins 1 p.m. at the American Tobacco Campus on Blackwell Street. It
will be broadcast on Fox50 on Dec. 4 and again on Dec. 25.
