Duke Farmer's Market Returns
It's time for the 5th Annual Duke Farmers Market. Time for brightly colored fruits and vegetables, fresh cut flowers and potted plants, the aroma of dried and fresh lavender, and the smell of cooked vegetables and exotic spices. Take a stroll through the market and experience the richness of the warm season. See, taste, and smell all that the market has to offer while listening to music from your fellow Duke musicians and local artists. While you're there, don't forget to enter our drawing to win a basket of delicious market goodies.
Summer is the perfect time to start eating healthier. The National Cancer Institute recommends 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. The Duke Farmers Market makes getting your "5 a day" easy by providing an abundance of fruits and vegetables (organic ones too) right outside your workplace. Stop by the market, pick up some fruits and veggies and a freshly prepared vegetarian lunch, and you're well on your way to "5 a day". In May there will be a wide variety of fresh produce for you to choose from including greens, sweet potatoes and everyone's favorite, strawberries.
Come out and enjoy the first day of the Farmers Market, Friday, May 6. The market will be located in front of the Medical Center Bookstore and on the walkway between Duke Hospital and the Medical Center. The Duke Farmers Market will take place
from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. every Friday from May through June and every other Friday July through September.
