Duke Farmer's Market Returns
The Duke Farmer's Market will return just in time to help employees get their five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. The market will reopen April 2 in the parking lot of the Duke University Medical Center Book Store.
It will be held weekly on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. from April through June, and biweekly on payday Fridays from July through September. LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke's health and wellness program for employees, sponsors the market.
Fruits, vegetables and grain products that contain fiber may reduce the risk
of coronary heart disease and lower the risk of some cancers. The market will offer fresh fruit and vegetables, breads and desserts, local honey and hive products, flowers, herbs, plants, lunch entrees, recipes, nutrition information, and free performances by Duke entertainers.
This year's market dates are:
- April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
- May 7, 14, 21, 28
- June 4, 11, 18, 25
- July 9, 23
- August 6, 20
- September 3, 17
