Duke Employee Singers Wanted for Holiday Concert
Do you sing or are you part of a singing group at Duke? Are you or a family member part of a choir in the community?
Duke Human Resources invites Duke faculty and staff to share their talent and celebrate the holiday season by participating in a concert featuring seasonal vocal music.
The performance, "Sharing our Joy," will be held during the lunch hour on Dec. 18 in the Duke Chapel — all University and Health System staff and faculty will be invited to attend. The event will consist of three separate 40-minute performances with a hot beverage and cookie reception outside of the Chapel between shows.
Six groups will be selected to perform a set of 15 minutes each. There will also be three five minute slots available for soloists or duets. The songs performed should celebrate those things which bring joy or express the spirit of joy.
Duke Human Resources asks that singers have a set of practiced songs already selected. Performers may provide their own accompaniment. Piano accompaniment and one hour of rehearsal with the accompanist are available upon request.
