LIVE FOR LIFE Health Fairs

Location: First Level Classroom, Durham Regional Hospital
Date: Thursday, October 25

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Comprehensive Heart Health Screens

This year the screenings are expanded to include a free Comprehensive Heart Health Screen with:

• Total and HDL cholesterol
• Blood glucose
• Blood pressure
• BMI and other measures

Call 416-DUKE to schedule an appointment for the screening. Screening sponsored by LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke Heart Center and Pfizer.

 

Healthy Lunches

Pick up some fresh produce and lunch in the Medical Center Bookstore parking lot 9:30 am- 2 pm. Coon Rock Farm (organically grown) and Britt Farms will provide a wide selection of seasonal produce.

 

Start Feeling Like a Million

Health Fairs on Oct. 25 and Nov. 8

Want to quit smoking, lose weight, or find out if your blood pressure is too high? Come to LIVE FOR LIFE's Feel Like a Million Health Fair and start changing your life for the better. More than 35 health representatives will be available to answer your questions. You can also take advantage of free screenings to help you manage your health and enhance your well being.

Learn about new programs to help you quit smoking and gym discounts to help you become more active. Suggestions will also be available on nutrition, heart health and prevention, which can make your life healthier and more enjoyable.

The first Health Fair is at Durham Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the First Level Classroom.

The Health Fair will be held in the Searle Center in the Duke Medical Center on Thursday November 8, between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Stop by the Health Fair to take advantage of the following free services:

• Comprehensive Heart Health Screen (see right)
• Flu shots for Duke employees (bring your Duke ID)
• Cholesterol screenings
• Blood pressure checks
• Bone-density screenings (for women at risk)
• Information from Duke Health representatives
• Refreshments
• Prizes

Duke Raleigh Hospital currently has a separate employee wellness program and is not eligible for LIVE FOR LIFE programs.
