30th Annual Great American Smokeout: Try Again, and Use What Works!
Do you or someone you know want to quit smoking? While few may succeed on their first try, researchers believe
the quitting rate could be doubled or tripled if smokers use proven methods and treatments. Find out how to improve
your chances of success at the 30th annual Great American Smokeout hosted by LIVE FOR LIFE on
Thursday, Nov. 16.
LIVE FOR LIFE will celebrate the Great American Smokeout by helping employees learn about smoking cessation
resources. Staff will speak with employees about how to quit, how to help others quit, and how to find a program
that best fits their needs.
Stop by the information tables in the Duke Hospital Cafeteria, the Duke
Clinic Food Court, or the Durham Regional Hospital cafeteria between 11 a.m. and
1 p.m., or speak with a LIVE FOR LIFE staff person roving in your area. (Roving
locations and times are posted to the right.)
Be sure to have your Duke ID badge scanned during the Smokeout to enter a raffle for prizes from local businesses
and the LIVE FOR LIFE store.
For more information call the LIVE FOR LIFE office at 684-3136, option 1, or e-mail
