Operate and monitor the building automation system?s central control console to monitor and control the various functions of Duke Hospital's physical environmental, safety, and security systems.
Operate the building automation system?s central console and control panels to monitor the operational status of elevators, fire alarms, building automation, pneumatic linen and trash transport, and various subsystems required for building operations.
Initiate appropriate emergency procedures as required due to system failures or alarm conditions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Maintain contact with appropriate maintenance personnel when conditions occur requiring on-site repair to provide information regarding system conditions, problem location, and to assist in correcting problems through use of computer facilities.
Maintain accurate records and logs documenting building temperature readings, atmospheric conditions, energy consumption, maintenance problems and steps taken to correct problem conditions.
Assist supervisor and Senior Operator in the training of new personnel. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires oral and written communication skills normally acquired through a high school education with computer course work.
Work requires basic knowledge of computer controlled building maintenance systems normally acquired through 2 years of experience in building maintenance systems or computer operating systems.
