Perform advanced supportive duties in a hospital clinic to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients; assist in training new personnel.
Perform advanced supportive duties in a hospital clinic to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients to include drawing blood, extracting sutures, operating electrocardiograph equipment and removing casts; change catheters, clean wounds, apply medications and dressings and assist in minor surgical procedures and biopsies utilizing sterile techniques.
Assist medical and nursing staff in the routine examination and treatment of patients to include obtaining and recording data for medical records, collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis and undressing, cleansing and position patients for specific procedures.
Set up and clean examination rooms to include changing linen and making beds; set instruments and equipment for specific procedures; hand instruments; supplies and equipment to examining physician.
Pick up and deliver specimens, equipment, messages, and supplies as directed; maintain inventory of supplies in examination rooms; replenish as required. Escort and transport patients to various hospital locations; schedule patient appointments and prepare related records.
Maintain work area in clean and orderly condition; wash and sterilize a variety of medical supplies.
Assist in training new personnel.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education. Heavy lifting and the ability to transport stretcher and wheelchair patients to various hospital locations may be required.
Completion of a six-month Nurse Aide program or six months experience in a patient care setting.
Clinic Assistant, Senior's must meet and fulfill all requirements set forth by the State of N.C. Board of Nursing's Nurse Aide Registry. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
