Feeling Better and Better

Everything is continuing to go well. I am getting more and more energy as I progress with the workouts. Getting up at 5 a.m. everyday to get to Wilson Recreation Center at 6 a.m. is even getting easier! I am really amazed at how easy it is to get your workout in first thing in the morning!

The workouts certainly aren't getting any easier, that is for sure. This week, I actually got to workout with two other trainers in addition to my regular trainer Vicky. That was definitely a nice change of pace because they all have slightly different styles which made things interesting and challenging.

I got my free athletic shoes over at 9th Street Active Feet last week. That was a really nice experience. They are very professional and really know how to fit you properly for a pair of shoes. My new shoes feel great.

My weigh-in this week was a little disappointing. After working my tail off, somehow I actually gained a pound! However trainer Vicky said NOT to focus on my weight right now, that my metabolism is revving up and I should be concentrating on how good I feel. So that's what I will do, because I do feel great.

Next week will be a test for me to see what I've learned and put it into practice because I will be out of the country for 10 days and won't have my support team here to push me. It will be interesting to see how I maintain my program. Wish me luck!

Making Positive Changes

This has been great for me and my family thus far. My wife and I started exercising regularly and have kept each other motivated as we are encouraged by our weight loss. Since we started, I've lost a few pounds and plan to continue losing. My eating has changed tremendously, I'm eating more frequent and less quantity and that helps. I seem to be hungry every 2-3 hours and need to eat something, fortunately, I've planned snacks like yogurt, ½ sandwich, fruit cups, nuts, sugar free pudding and the like. Just to chew on some small quantity more frequently helps me a bunch and as you all may well know, I love to eat, so this is not so bad. Plan those snacks and continue to exercise as it will only prolong our existence in a healthy way.
