Pre-Assembled Meals
Do you eat out frequently? Are you tired of cooking the same recipes? If so, you may want to visit a meal assembly store. It may be less expensive than eating out or stocking your pantry with spices and ingredients that may go to waste.
Meal assembly stores are popping up everywhere, including the Triangle — they offer a healthy and convenient alternative for busy people who don't have time to cook and are tired of eating out. Most stores offer nutritional information for their meals either online or in the store. For more information about meal prep stores, visit www.easymealprep.com and enter your zip code for a listing of nearby stores.
How the stores work:
- Order your meals from a menu on the store's Web site or by calling the store. Meal sizes vary. Some stores have a minimum order requirement.
- When placing your order, you will choose a date and time to assemble your meals at the store. It usually takes 5-10 minutes per meal for assembly. (Some stores will assemble the meals for you at an additional charge.)
- When you arrive for your session, all ingredients and utensils will be ready for you at assembly stations.
- Recipes are provided for you to follow. You can alter recipes according to your personal taste and nutritional needs.
- Once you finish assembling a meal, you'll place it in a freezer bag and label it with preprinted cooking instructions to take home.
