Welcome Teachers!
Through a commitment to fostering learning,
Sarah P. Duke Gardens provides a unique resource for the exploration
of the garden environment, which includes science, and the environment.
Our goal is to offer standard based, interactive programs that
support and extend your classroom objectives.
Sarah P. Duke Gardens offers programs for Pre-k
Four Year olds through High School age students and their teachers.
All programs are designed to enhance classroom learning by focusing
on skill building and meeting objectives in the North Carolina
Standard Course of Study.
General and specialty tours, guided hands-on
explorations, sensory walks, classroom programs, self-guided programs,
and an amphitheater program are available. Young children use
their senses to discover nature in the Gardens while older students
explore garden themes in more depth while discovering the structures,
functions, systems, and inter-relationships in the natural world.
Explore this historic site with your students,
take advantage of our many programs, and learn all that nature
has to offer. We look forward to meeting you and your students
during the school year. Please read the information page to learn
guidelines and registration
Sincerely,
The staff and docents of the education
