Sarah P. Duke Gardens offers a week-long half-day camp for the budding young naturalist. A different theme in nature is focused on each day. Campers will explore plants, birds, insects, and water habitats through hands-on discovery, collections, plant pressing, journaling, creative work, and science projects to take home.

Different areas of the Gardens will be explored to discover the connections between plants, animals, and people. Visiting experts and live animals join the fun.

June 15-19 and June 22-26, 9 am - 1 pm each day

Lunch and Snack
Campers must bring bag lunch and drink. One snack will be provided. Campers should wear clothes that can get dirty.

Due to limited space confirmation of place will be determined and made by phone when form and payment are received. Places will be filled on first come basis.

Camp will be limited to 14 campers. A scholarship may be offered. The Gardens offers an experienced educational staff and volunteer teachers. For further information call Annie Nashold at 668-1708.

$120 for Friends of the Gardens $130 for non-members

Cancellation, refunds, and receipts
Refunds will be given up to 2 weeks prior to camp date, however cancellations are subject to a $20 service fee. Duke Gardens reserves the right to cancel camp if enrollment is not met. If the Gardens cancels a full refund will be given. It is important that you supply a phone number where you can be reached prior to camp. We will not accept responsibility for inconvenience to those we cannot contact. No other refunds will be made.
