DTS FAQ
In an attempt to provide better assistance to prospective employees,
DTS has developed a list of FAQ's. Should you require additional information, please give us
a call at (919) 681-3132. Q. How do I apply?
A. If you are interested in applying with DTS, you have
several options: 1. Come by the DTS office located at 705 Broad Street and complete a resume online. Our office hours are Monday - Friday
from 8 am to 5 pm. 2. You may apply from home through the internet
using our online jobs
web site.
Q. Does DTS have a listing?
A. DTS does not have a job listing since assignments change
on a daily basis.
Q. What kind of jobs are available at DTS?
A. DTS fills clerical, technical, service, administrative, and
professional assignments at Duke University and Duke University Health System, Durham
Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, and outlying areas of Duke.
Q. How long does a resume remain active?
A. Resumes are active for 90 days. After 90 days, you must re-apply
or update your online resume.
Q. What happens after I submit my resume?
A. After you submit your resume it is reviewed. If
your skills, education, and experience match current job assignments, you will be contacted for an interview.
Employment references and court record histories are completed prior to hiring.
Q. How long do job assignments last?
A. Job assignments range from half days to indefinite periods
of time. A Duke temporary employee cannot work more than 999 hours on a single
assignment.
Q. Do temporary employees receive benefits?
A. DTS employees are eligible to receive holiday pay and vacation
pay based on the number of hours worked. Holiday pay is earned if an employee works
400 hours in the 6 pay periods prior to the holiday. Vacation pay is earned if an employee
works 1200 hours in the fiscal year (July through June).
