Express classification enables entities to create new positions or reclassify existing positions specified in an agreed
upon listing of job classifications. This program expedites the position management process for positions/classifications
that meet certain criteria and that are frequently created or reclassified.
Criteria for jobs eligible for express classification:
- Job classification must currently exist at Duke
- Job classification cannot exist Duke-wide (e.g. clerical/secretarial,
administrative/ managerial, etc.)
- The job classification will typically exist as part of an established clinical ladder or career path or have specific competency, licensure/certification and education requirements (e.g. Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse Practitioner, Anesthesia Tech, etc.)
Supervisory, clerical/secretarial, and administrative/managerial classifications
are not eligible for express classification.
