Faculty and Staff Retirement Plan FAQ - The Faculty and Staff Retirement Plan ("403(b) plan") is funded by your voluntary pre-tax contributions. You are eligible to participate immediately in the plan, and may direct your contributions to a wide array of funds and annuities. ERP FAQ - The Employees' Retirement Plan is a pension plan, designed to provide biweekly with a guaranteed monthly income at retirement, paid entirely by Duke. You automatically will become a member of the plan if you are over age 21 and have completed one year of employment, working at least 1,000 hours. You will be entitled to receive plan benefits after completing five years of continuous service, which is called vesting.
