Open Enrollment for 2008 Benefits has ended. Those Duke employees that made changes during the open enrollment period
will be sent a confirmation statement in the middle of November. Changes to your coverage outside of the open enrollment
period may only be made within 30 days of a qualifying life event.
 Earlier
this year Duke HR put out a call for photos from faculty and staff that could be
used to promote our health benefits under the theme "Why is your health
important to you?" The response was
tremendous.
Open Enrollment 2008
Open Enrollment Has Ended
Duke is pleased to offer you a selection of comprehensive, high-quality health, dental,
and vision care plans. Based on your personal needs, you have the choice of several
plans to cover you and your family. You also can take advantage of tax savings through
the Health Care and/or Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts.
Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review your
health, dental, vision, and reimbursement account
benefit selections and make any changes necessary to
ensure your choices continue to meet your needs.
In 2008, Duke is introducing a new
Health Care Card that will pay for many eligible health care expenses at the point of sale using funds from
an employee's health care reimbursement account. That means less hassle and less paperwork.
Additional Benefits
You may enroll in many of Duke's other benefits any time throughout the year.
These benefits include: 403(b) Retirement Plan, Supplemental Life Insurance,
Universal Life Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, Disability, Personal
Accident Insurance, and Personal Casualty Insurance (Renter's, Automobile, and
Homeowner's Insurance). For more information, please visit the
Benefits Web Page or call Human Resources at
(919) 684-5600.
