Flu Shots - Duke faculty and staff can receive free flu vaccine shots at the Employee and Occupational Health & Wellness clinic (flu shot schedule). Patient care providers are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated to not only protect themselves but also their patients from this highly contagious disease.

DUHS FMLA Management - EOHW determines if an absence is an FMLA qualifying event and provides an EOHW Determination Form to both the manager and the employee. This process is mandatory for all DUHS managers. Details can be found here.

Health Review for Animal Handlers - Employees in certain job categories are required to undergo a health review at the beginning of their job and at periodic intervals. This policy includes Duke personnel who work with animals.

Placement Health Review - The placement health review is a required process for selected job positions at Duke University based on federal, state and University regulations and policies. The basic requirements are described here by job group.

Tuberculosis Screening - A tuberculosis reading must be performed by an RN, MD, PA, or NP other than yourself. Results must be read 48-72 hours after placement of the tuberculin test. If there is any redness, swelling, or induration present the employee MUST BE SEEN IN EOHW as soon as possible.

Tuberculosis Questionnaire - Please complete this questionnaire if you cannot take the TB skin test and this has been documented by EOHW.

Personal Assistance Service (PAS) - Personal Assistance Service is the faculty/employee assistance program of Duke University. The staff of licensed professionals offer assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals to help resolve a range of personal, work, and family problems. PAS services are available free of charge to Duke faculty and staff, and their immediate family members.
